Hello DungeonSweepers!
Today we bring a sizable patch to the game. We've been gearing up for the Steam Next Fest, making more content and fixing as many bugs as we can for the upcoming week. All that work is coming to this version too, don't worry. As always, see notes below. Happy sweeping!
General
- (NEW) Feature: Challenges!
- Challenges are a new way to play DungeonSweeper where we will have the opportunity to change some core rules of the gameplay. Things like, swapping the contents of the dungeons, change the leveling curve, restrict items/shop, and force class/item combinations.

- Bounty Board, Menu, and Toolbox HUD elements now stack vertically as opposed to horizontally.
- Tutorial updates to make it less likely to die to the Green Slime.
- Updates several selection menus to better scale with their content, and use proper fonts.
- Added tutorial to suggest using Aristocrat if you lose enough times without winning.
- Conquered enemies will now scale down so that it's more obvious they are dead.
- (IN PROGRESS) Localization Support for major languages.
Dungeons
- Most dungeons have been altered to reduce heal items.
- Most dungeons have introduced Gold Slime.
- Later dungeons have introduced Stone Watcher.
Enemies/Tiles
- (NEW) Fey
- A new enemy classification, like Beast, Humanoid, etc.
- Fey include:
- Fairy
- Gnome
- Djinn
- Cyclops
- Reduced power from 12 to 8.
- Reduced vision obscuring range from 12 to 8.
- Snake Charmer
- On Conquer, now reveals the snakes he was charming.
- Firelord
- On Conquer, now reveals Fireflies.
- Power changed from 15 to 20.
- When a firefly is conquered, reduce the Firelord's power by 2.
- (NEW) Stone Watcher
- 12 Power / 12 XP.
- Obscures 12 spaces in it's facing direction.
- On Conquer, reveals those 12
- (NEW) Brick Mimic.
- 11 Power / 11 XP.
- It's like the Mimic but pretends to be a Brick instead.
- (NEW) Gold Slime
- 1 Power / 3 XP.
- (NEW) Pied Piper - Maraca
- This is an ELITE enemy and will only appear in Challenges.
- 5 Power / 5 XP.
- Rat Scroll only drops from a Pied Piper if the entire band is defeated.
- (NEW) Pied Piper - Tambourine
- This is an ELITE enemy and will only appear in Challenges.
- 5 Power / 5 XP.
- Rat Scroll only drops from a Pied Piper if the entire band is defeated.
- This is an ELITE enemy and will only appear in Challenges.
- (NEW) Gargoyle Knight
- This is an ELITE enemy and will only appear in Challenges.
- 4 Power / 4 XP.
- Faces its twin, but no longer next to, instead in any classical chess L-shaped direction.
- This is an ELITE enemy and will only appear in Challenges.
- (NEW) Uber Mines
- 200 Power / 4 XP.
- (NEW) Uber Lich
- This is an ELITE enemy and will only appear in Challenges.
- 11/12/14/16/19 Power, 11/12/14/16/19 XP, depending on the Dungeon level.
- Drops the Scroll: Uber Mine
- This is an ELITE enemy and will only appear in Challenges.
- (NEW) Scroll: Uber Mines
- Diffuses all Uber Mines.
Items
- ALL items are now stackable in the UI. If an item had multiple charges per instance, then the stack will grow accordingly.
- All Bait items have a max of 9 (down from Infinite).
- Multiple items rarity has been adjusted. Overall the goal is to spread rarity for more common, uncommon, and rare items.
- Multiple items have had their costs adjusted (mostly increasing them).
- Multiple items have had their efficacy reduced.
- Note: In general, we've found items are too powerful. This is an effort to reduce their potency.
- Items can now be banned from random generation, like from Chests or Dice. Initial list of banned items:
- Bounty Board
- Bow
- Flute
- Magic Carpet
- Sacrificial Whip
- Silver Spoon
- Sword
- Wardstones
- Gourmet Meal
- Steel Scales
- Potion: Vision
- Now reads: Use from inventory. Reveal a random unoccupied tile.
- Potion: Agility has been renamed to Potion: Liquid Experience.
- Now reads: Use from inventory. Take 1 damage to gain +2 XP.
- (NEW) Bait: Gold Bug
- Adds 1 Gold Bug to the Dungeon.
- (NEW) Bait: Gold Slime
- Adds 1 Gold Slime to the Dungeon.
- (NEW) Pizza Detector
- Auto reveals 1 Pizza Slice at the start of the Dungeon.
- Auto reveals 1 Pizza at the start of the Dungeon.
- (NEW) Lich Detector
- Auto reveals the Lice at the start of the Dungeon.
- Adds 1 Mine to the Dungeon.
- (NEW) Construction Hat
- Gain +1 XP from Bricks.
- (NEW) Repellent: Stone Watcher
- Removes 1 Stone Watcher from the Dungeon.
- (NEW) Lunar Healing Supplies
- +1 shield when you heal with 0 life remaining.
- (NEW) Lunar Pin
- +1 shield at the start of the dungeon.
- (NEW) Superior Flute
- Upgrade Rat Scroll to also reveal Gold Bugs, Bees, and Fey.
- (NEW) Assassin's Garb
- Heal +1 XP when you heal with 0 life remaining.
- (NEW) Gloves of Healing
- Gain +1 HP when you heal with 0 life remaining.
- (NEW) Steel Scales
- The Dragon gains +1 Max HP.
- This is not sold in the shop and does not drop randomly.

- Fixed several typos in item names and descriptions.
- Fixed Bounty Board and Menu from getting stuck on targets that are no longer viable.

Please specify all the item changes. We are used to the old items and game balance, so adapting would be unnecessarily frustrating without knowing what changed.
Also, it would be nice to have the same for the dungeon generation changes.
I hear ya, I'll get more details soon. I ran out of time today but I can write out the exact changes
